Everyone - please raises your glasses and joins me in toasting Nazim and Sharifah Skikin. As I begin this wedding speech one of the first thoughts that come to mind is… if I’m the best man… than why is Sharifah Shikin getting married to Nazim? I guess because today, I am just an average man and Nazim is the best man. In my extensive research to find out how to deliver a great best man speech, I learned that I am expected to sing the praises of the groom and tell you what a wonderful guy Nazim is. Unfortunately, I’m a bad singer and a bad liar.
Ladies and gentleman. I met Nazim in 1996. We have been friends for over 11 years. In that time, he has proven himself to be not only a great friend, but a truly good man as well. I still remember, he told me that he don’t want looking to have a girlfriend until he finish his study. I’m agreed with him. But today, his has one paper to finish it, but he got married. And I have a job but still single. I know he won’t mind me saying that, because he never told me that he has girlfriend since primary school. I just realize when he told to take care of his girlfriend before he continue his study at Egypt.
I value my friendship with Nazim and I look forward to having the same great friendship with his lovely new bride Sharifah Shikin. I know one important thing about Sharifah Shikin. She has made Nazim happier then I have ever seen him. Today is a day of joy and happiness for all of us. But it is not just a day… it’s the very special beginning of a new life between Nazim and Sharifah Shikin. I wish you both health and happiness and may God bless your marriage.
